Lifecore Biomedical, Inc. manufacture Intergel which is marketed by Johnson & Johnson’s Gynecare unit and is used to reduce internal scarring from gynecological surgery. On March 27, 2003 International sales were suspended and Johnson & Johnson’s Gynecare subsequently sent doctors a letter stating that the company had received reports of problems.
